Immigration Service Available to Those Impacted by Natural Disasters and Other Unexpected Circumstances
Your chances of moving to the US and becoming a permanent resident may be impacted by unexpected situations that are out of your control. The good news is that USCIS offers immigration services to help those who are affected by unforeseen circumstances including natural disasters. An immigration lawyer Manhattan can guide you further on what you must know and which services apply to you.
In an announcement

measures for those affected by natural disasters and other unexpected circumstances:

stay for individuals currently in the US. If you fail to file the change or
extension before the authorized period of admission expires, you may be excused
if the delay is caused by circumstances beyond your control.
·
Expedited adjudication of requests for off-campus employment
authorization for F-1 students with severe economic hardship
·
Expedited processing of advance parole requests
·
Expedited adjudication of applications for employment
authorization where appropriate

Fee waiver requests are considered because of the inability to
pay
·
Flexibility if you were unable to appear for your scheduled
interview with the USCIS
·
Flexibility for individuals who received a Notice of Intent to
Deny or Request for Evidence but were unable to respond or submit evidence
promptly.
·
Rescheduling of appointments for biometric services

Making a
request
An immigration lawyer Manhattan can advise you on what to do and walk you through the process of making a request. You have to explain how the natural disaster or unforeseen circumstance created the need for the relief you are requesting.
